[MONDAY THOUGHTS 2009 ARCHIVE]
Staying in touch with clients, colleagues, students and friends has been a critical part of the success of Morning Star Associates from the very beginning.
When I had completed teaching the first year long course on leadership and strategic change called From Vision to Action back in 1998, graduates asked me:"What's next?"
My response was, 'We will keep in touch."
And so starting in the winter of 1999, I began writing and sending out via e-mail my Monday Thoughts, a collection of weekly reflections on leadership and strategic change concepts.
Typically, these Monday Thoughts are about 2-3 pages in length and focus on specific themes blending current research by a diversity of authors and my own musings, insights and observations.
I often tell first time readers of these Monday Thoughts that it may, at first, feel like you are walking into a room where a group of people have been sitting around a table holding an in-depth conversation. And truthfully, we have been for quite a few years. But with good listening and thoughtfulness, a first time reader can quickly slip into the dialogue and gather important ideas and perspectives.
With the Monday Thoughts going out to clients, colleagues and students in a diversity of industries and organizations, I routinely receive e-mails responses back each week from many different people. It is from these weekly points of connection that I pen the following Monday Thoughts.
Happy Reading!
